From the information I have received:
"According to the family Bible that belonged to Mrs. Annie (Burnley) Bratton in 1979, William was the son of William and Mary Pendarvis. Annie was the great grand-daughter of William and Margaret Pendarvis. He went to Smith Co. Tennessee some time before Dec. 1802. We know nothing of William's parentage. We do know that there was a large and well know Pendarvis family living in Charleston, SC at the time of Williams birth. We know that this family also had a William married to a Mary and they had a son named William Jr. However there are enough differences between the two families that they have been ruled out as the parents of our William. The major one(difference) being William Jr of SC died 70 days after he came of age according to a court case involving his inheritance."

I would conclude that from the information you have there were two William Jr.s My William married Margaret Vance (Wood?)Dec 30,1802 in Smith County Tennessee. They had nine children. I do have further info on this line and their decendents.
