Linda - I have a copy of a book (and it's also in parish library) entitled LaSalle Parish History - Families Past and Present, compiled by LaSalle Gen Assoc., published in 1989. It is stories of the families that settled the area from about 1800. Most is derived from Bibles and oral familiy histories. It is a wealth of info. I have been to the cemetaries in the area, and plan to return to go over records at the court house and whatever the library may have. I live only an hour or so away, but getting away at a time they are open is a problem for me. I have read in the book that William P. came from SC to Pike County, Ms, and his son William moved to central LA. Son William was born in 1775, and was the third son. Do you have anything that can fill in the blanks? I have read over the info on Joseph Pendarvis of SC, and find it totally fascinating. He and Parthena did have a son named William didn't they?
