Hi Kate,
My email address is pauleggleton@cs.com - I actually live in L.A. although I am British and came from Surrey, so I too get frustrated because I can't e.g. go to the London records centre. However, I purchase microfiche for the places I am researching (Epsom, Thames Ditton, Esher, Ewell) for whatever is available - Paris records, burials etc. I also travel occasionally to Lonodn on business and on my last trip I went to the Woking family history center that houses all the parish records on fiche and I wrote down as many of the PENFOLDS in Epsom that I could read in the time available. I also have my brother, who lives in England - he's not as enthusiatic about genealogy as me but he is interested and I send him requests.
So anyway, let me know what you have and what you want and I'll look up what I have and hopefully can help and even more hopefully we can find some relationship between our ancestors.
