Who was Surgeon Penfold?

I have a Thomas Hall, born Athlone, Ireland in the 1770s. Thomas joined the British Army and was sent to India in the early 1800s. He eventually obtained the rank of Major. He supposedly married "Miss Penfold", the daughter of "Surgeon Penfold". I do not know the first name of Surgeon Penfold or his daughter. Can anyone help me with this information?

I searched Google for "Surgeon Penfold" and came up with one entry, on a website - www.neuronic. com - for a Surgeon Penfold mentioned in a history of sleep disorders and insomnia. Apparently the Surgeon Penfold mentioned in this article was an early researcher in the 1800s into these disorders. I would appreciate any assistance.
