I am currently carrying out research into the Romany Gypsy community of the Britain. Collaborating with the University of Leicester we plan to collect a large number of DNA samples from males with documented Gypsy surnames originating in the British Isles. The findings will help us better understand the origins of Britain's Gypsy/Romany peoples, the data will be used in comparision with existing European populations. If you would like to take part in the study, please email me on for more details of how to take part in this free project, including a potted version of the male line you are proposing to sample.
Looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully your participation in this unique project.
