Hi Joan, Thanks so much for replying to my message. I may know your Franklyn's parents: My grandfather, Frederick Spies Penfold's parents were John R. Penfold and Frances Brown (both buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn). John's parents were Nicholas Penfold and Margeret Spies who were married 10/26/1820 in NYC. They are listed in the 1850 census in NYC with 3 children: Mary 20,John 18 and Franklin 15.
Would that be your Franklyn?
