O.K. the plot thickens. My Franklin, who married an Ann Ganley, had a daughter named Esther A. I was told that she died at an early age. I did find her with Franklin and Ann in the 1880 N.Y. census.
I do have an elderly uncle still living in the New York area. I'm going to write to him to see if he knows anything about Esther and whether she was names after any relatives.
I would be more than happy to give you a copy of my Penfolds. Do you have a Genealogy program? If so I can send a GEDCOM file. If not, do you have an email? I can send the information in text form. Or there is the old snail mail. Just let me know.
