Hi Gene
Thanks for your reply - very interesting !!
I've checked through my papers / database and I dont have a record of Almira Ellen Vibbert. My notes which agree with all the others i've seen state Sarah's death as 1813 [note: i havnt seen the death certificate myself so I always keep an open mind!!]. All confirm marriage at 16.

You will find Penhallow recorded as Penhollow, Penharlow and Harlow. Worldwide, all are related back to 1300 England. For a brief history of the familt take a peek at my website

I think we need to do some serious work on this area. You say your grandmother was one of 13? Records indicate only 3 children to Sarah and Russell. Do you have a copy of Almira's wedding certificate?

Most of the stories are pretty much correct. The Boston Tea Party Penhallow was Richard, Sarah's father. The part about him [Richard] leaving England is incorrect, its confused with Samual [1665-1726]. Samuel was the first Penhallow in the US and all the american family are related to him. Richard was born in Mass, and died in Conn.

It still makes very interesting reading - do you still have the original letter Daisy wrote?

Would love to chat more about your family and explore the issue over dates.
