Apologies for not replying before now, I have been concentrating on finishing some jobs around the home.

Thank you for the information, I have not come across this John before so I will add him to my records.
The John PENKETH that I am interested in was born between 1795 and 1806. These dates are arrived at from the census records that I have of him.
I think he was born in St. Helens. There are several references for a John during those years in Lancashire and Cheshire, but only one found as yet that was born in St. Helens in 1798. If this is my John then I will know his father and grandfather.
