Hello Jerry,

I am just re-surfacing after the Christmas break, I trust you and your family had a good one.

As far as I know for a name to be different, is he has two given names i.e. Albert John, but in practice he may have used John as his preference.
Not uncommon for anyone to change their age when they get married. It is usually because they are under age, this being 21 years. My grandmother increased her age by two years and my father deceased his age by three years, why I do not know unless he was unsure of his birth.

I presume you do not know of any siblings of Ellen.

Have you visited this website at all, http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ you can search for information on Births Marriages and Deaths in the U.K. from 1837 to about 1900. The records are being transcribed voluntary on an ongoing basis. It is by no way completed but there are a lot of records in there now.

All the best for this year,

Norm
