For some reason I am not getting a notification of your posting to my posting... so I just happened to check the page now and found your reply. The holidays were fine,here,thanks. With a four year old grandson (who is the link to the Penkeths) how could it be otherwise. Good new year wishes to you and yours as well.

Thanks for the idea on the age change; I would not put it past them. But even with that, there are no real likely candidates on the FreeBMD list I can find.
Do you have any John Penketh in your lists who could have fathered a child ca. 1878 and who died between then and 1898? All the ones I see in the BMD who died in those years were gezers who would have been very late in life fathers.
