Hi: I am a direct descendant of Alexander Penman married to Helen Cook; he is my GGGGGrandfather. His son Alexander married Agnes Morris who was famous for working in a coal mine nearly all her life. Most of these Penmans were born, lived and died in the Dunfermline area, Town Hill, Beath, Wellwood and vicinity. Many of them emigrated to the US, Canada and Australia. I am one of the family who emigrated to Canada when I was 6 years old in 1926. Another branch of the family located in Warren PA and there are descendants still in that area. I have been searching for the parents of Alexander married to Helen Cook, with little success. I located a William Penman, born 1758, died 1840 in Dunfermline who I think was Alexander's father but haven't confirmed this. If you have any information I can use it.
Thanks ! Alexander Penman, Welsford, New Brunswick Canada.
