William Penman married Jennette (Janet) Campbell on 1 April, 1842 in Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland. On 30 April, 1852 they arrived in New York Harbor on the Champion with the following children: Margaret b.abt. 1843, Janet b abt. 1845, William b. 1848, Andrew b. abt. 1849 and George born abt. 1851. They lived in Allegany County, MD in the area around Barton and Cumberland. William Penman and his sons were coal miners. They had the following children in Maryland: David b. 1854, Christina 1856, Robert 1857, Sarah Ellen 1860, John 1863. William Penman b. 1848 was born in Oakely, Fife Scotland. Would like to share information with other researchers of this family.
