Ross... your Alexander appears to be my G.grandfather George's brother if his parents were James Penman b 1808 chr 2.4.1809 in Barony married to Isabella Paterson b 1810. James died 6.02.1871 at Plains, Isabella died 19.4.1871 also at Plains. they had 4 kids Robert 1833, Janette 1834, Alexander 1836 & George 4.7.1847. If this is your line please let me know.
