Hi my name is Fiona Brown. I am decended from James Penman's brother william.
James and William were the sons of James Penman and Elizabeth Finlayson who married in Dunfermline Fife in 1802. James(Snr)was a wagoner for a local coal mine.
James(Snr)and Elizabeth Finlayson had 6 children - James (born 1803+/- in Fife), Malcolm, William, Isabella, Elizabeth and George.
James(jnr)married Jane Walker and they had 9 children.
(Jane's parents were Janet Cook and John Walker).
Malcolm, their 6th child, married Christine Boyd in Springburn 1857. They had 5 children before emigrating to US on 3 Aug.1868. Glasgow to New York on the ship "Caledonia". There may have been more children born in US? Hope that's helpful. Fiona
