Jessie Pennman in Scotland / England early 1900's

I am looking for information on the surname of Penman, from Scotland or England. The lady's name was Jessie Penman, born around 1870-1890's. She had 4 sons, Alex, John, Peter and her second son was Alfred Simpson. (not sure how the Simpson name fits, that's what I'm hoping to find out) All I know is Alfred was born in the early 1910-1920 range.
Any information is useful. Thank you.
