Looking for information about a Penman family who may have lived in Bigger parish, near the town of Lanark in Lanarkshire, Scotland. They would have lived in Biggar around 1790. Jane Penman, b. 11 Nov. 1793, married Robert Thompson who was b. 29 Feb. 1792 in Lanark, Lanarkshire. Jane supposedly was born in Biggar. Jane and her husband Robert Thompson came to America in 1819/20. Jane's mother may? have been named Grace. Her father may have been named Thomas or possibly Robert.
