Annie Ernest Penn, born December 1876, Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV,
to Lewis George Penn and Mary "Mollie" Gray (Brooke) Penn, married Silas Carter McIntosh June 11, 1902.She died August 5, 1909, Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV. She is buried in the Old Stone Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV.Silas Carter McIntosh married another daughter, Mary E. Penn, in 1917, who was Annie's sister.The obituary of Silas Carter McIntosh in the Greensboro News & Record, 1941, states both wives predeceased him.The Silas Carter McIntosh family resided in several locations:Lewisburg, Greenbrier County, WV, Norfolk and Richmond, VA, and Greensboro, Guilford County, NC.Sons, Carter Penn McIntosh and Clifton Brooke McIntosh, often called by their middle names or the nickname, "Brooks," were playing high school football in the 1920's, documented by the sports reporters in the Greensboro News & Record.They are called "Penn" and "Brooks" in the 1941 obituary of their father.Silas Carter McIntosh, born July 1873, Stuart, Patrick County, VA, died November 8, 1941, Norfolk, VA.He is buried in the Green Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, Guilford County, NC.
Mary "Mollie" Gray (Brooke) Penn may have been residing in either Norfolk or Richmond, VA near the Silas Carter McIntosh family in her later years.After residing briefly in Ohio near her son, George Gibson Penn, Sr. in the 1920's,
her husband, Lewis George Penn, died in 1922.She later traveled to visit George's family in Jacksonville, Duval County, FL, but he died in 1933.She did not remain in Florida, but returned to be near relatives in Virginia.Her youngest son, Charles Baker Penn, moved to San Diego, CA along with two daughters, and he died in 1951.One of his sons, Brooks O'Dell Penn, resided in WV, and another son, Charles Boyd Penn, resided in NC.
