I am trying to find out what happened to a M J Penney who was in hospital in the UK during the second world war,the hospital was in Newton Abbott, Devon and my mum was a child at the time. she used to visit this particular man, and one day she had made a scarf for him, when she went to the hospital the nurse wouldnt let her in, so she never knew what happened to him. She didnt see him at all after that but she has never forgotten him and if anyone can help me i would appreciate any information as to the outcome of his stay in Newton Abbott. my mum was about 10 years old at the time. The only information she ever saw was his name on the end of the bed which said MJ Penney, St Johns, Newfoundland
