There was a George Joyce born 1801 to Robert Joyce and Mary Sparks of Freshwater,Carbonear,Newfoundland.
After Mary was widowed she married William Penny in 1810. Other siblings were Elizabeth 1799 and William 1806. They were baptised Methodist on 26jan1812.

I thought this might be of interest since the name you were looking for had the middle name JOYCE.
