Thanks to my very smart uncle...this is the info I have on John Penney, his father (james) and brother Robert. As you can see, he wasn't born in NY but died there:
1. James Penney was born Abt. 1755 in County Down, Ireland. He married Jean ?. She was born Abt. 1755 in County Down, Ireland, and died Abt. 1829 in Ardaughy, County Down, Ireland.
Children of James Penney and Jean ? are:
2 i. John2 Penney.
3 ii. Robert Penney, born Abt. 1782 in Ardaughy, County Down, Ireland; died 1855 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
4 iii. Joseph Penney, born 12 August 1793 in Drumgooland Parish, Ardaghy, County Down, Ireland; died 22 March 1860 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
