Do you know anything of the Priscilla Ross, the first wufe of Jacob Penturf of Wilson co., Ks?
The Abijah Hampton who enlisted with Jacob, along with several others from the Verdigris River area, in Co G Kansas 9th Cav in 1861 is a grtgrtgrandfather. One of his daughters, Rosannah Hampton, married James W. Ross, in Wilson co., Dec 20, 1865. I am trying to find more about Abijah Hampton by looking for more people who may have known him.
Of the group of men that enlisted in Co G, a John Hase is among them, several are connected through the marriages of their children. These men may also have been connected before they became the first European settlers along the Verdigris. Thanks.
