The Reuben Fowler named in John Pepper's will was the son of Nathan Fowler and Elizabeth Pepper, and the husband of Frances (Fanny) Ann Johnson. The Reuben Fowler who married Emma Peppers was the son of Reuben and Fanny Ann.

I have the following information but it's not my research so I don't know what the documentation is. It might give someone a lead, though:

"REUBEN F. FOWLER (20 Oct. 1861- 17 Aug 1917) married in 1886 in Gwinnett County, Georgia) to EMMA PEPPERS (d. 4 Sept. 1929). Reuben is buried at Appalachee Baptist Churchyard, Auburn, Barrow County, GA.
CHILDREN: Infant dau 25 July 1887; John Thomas (5 Aug 1899 - 28 Aug 1966), buried Lenora Baptist Churchyard, Snellville, Gwinnett County, GA. He was married to Odessa L. Hurndon." That's all I have on Reuben the younger.

The marriage of Reuben and Emma does appear in the Gwinnett County Marriages book. I have a copy of the page somewhere...just can't put my hands on it right now. Hope this helps.

I am descended from Nathan Fowler and Elizabeth Pepper through their son, John.
