Rebecca Jane Graham, called Jane, was b. ca 1837 to Rebecca Ellison and Moses Graham. Jane Graham married first Elijah Paul Flanigan who died in 1865 in IL (Civil War). They had two daughters:
Amanda Rebecca Flanigan, called "Angie," who was b. 15 Feb 1858, d. 19 Jan 1944 Atlanta, was married to Thomas Russell Bradley, and they are buried at the Bethabra Church Cemetery in Barrow Co., GA.
Louisa Flanigan, called "Lou," was b. Mar 1860, d. 21 Aug 1938, was married to Edward P. Sparks.
Jane Flanigan then married Andrew Peppers on 9 Sept 1869 in Jackson Co., GA. He was born ca 1849 GA. I cannot find this couple on the 1870 census. In 1880 they are in Green Co., GA with Lidie (13), Almedia (10), Emma (8), and Missie (3). The only one of the Peppers children I now know anything about is Sarah Almedia Peppers who married Francis Marion White.
I cannot find Andrew and/or Jane Peppers and their other children on a 1900 census. Jane Peppers is in her daughter Louisa Sparks 1910 household. In that 1910 census data she says she was the mother of 9 children and that 4 are alive: these would be her two Flanigan daughters, Sarah Almedia Peppers White, and one other child. I do not know when Andrew and Jane Peppers died or where they are buried. I am hopeful that someone might provide more info on Andrew, Jane, and their children.
An interesting connection? I do not know who Andrew Peppers' parents were. Jane Flanigan's daughter Angie married Thomas Russell Bradley, b. 1857 to Francis Marion Bradley and Satira (Stiry) Camp. Francis Marion Bradley d. 1863 and Stiry then married James M. Peppers. I do not know if he was related to Andrew Peppers or not. Thomas Russell Bradley was in James M. Peppers' 1870 household, but as I said, I cannot find Jane and Andrew Peppers for the 1870 census. I am thinking Andrew and Jane Peppers must have been nearby with her two Flanigan daughters in their household.
Can anyone provide more information? My direct email address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
David Ellison White
