Spencer Perceval (note the correct spelling) was first elected to the House of Commons as Member for Northampton for the Tory party in 1796.
Made Solicitor-General to the Queen in 1798.
Appointed Solicitor-General in the new Tory Government in 1801.
Attorney-General in 1802.
Leader of the Opposition in 1805.
Prime Minister 1808.
