Judging from the spelling of the name and the date of birth, Louis F. Pursifull, b: 1827 has to be a grandson (or greatgrandson) of Peter Percival (Pursifull). The problem is, to determine which of Peter Pursifull's and Margaret's (Selser)sons is his father (or grandfather). Peter and Margaret had 14 children of which three boys are old enough to be Louis' grandfather, while 6 more boys could have been the father. Most of the "Pursifull" family migrated to eastern Kentucky from eastern Tennessee and western Virginia. Below is their offspring.

84 vii. Jacob Pursifull, born 1790 in Wythe County, VA.
85 viii. Thomas Pursifull, born 1792 in Wythe County, VA.
86 ix. Henry C. Pursifull, born 1793 in Wythe County, VA; died August 30, 1883 in Clinton County, Indiana. He married Fannie Colson April 1813 in Clairborne County, Tennessee.
87 x. Mount Pursifull, born October 14, 1795 in Wythe County, VA; died 1890 in Bell County, Kentucky. He married Nancy.
88 xi. Jeremiah Pursifull, born 1796 in Wythe County, VA; died in Bell County, Kentucky.
Notes for Jeremiah Pursifull:
Jeremiah appears on the 1810 Kentucky Census with his brothers Pleasant and Joseph. His name is spelled Piercefield.
Jeremiah became an attorney and lived in Harlen, Knox, and Bell Counties in Kentucky.
