Laura. Mary Percival, daughter of Andrew Percival, was still shown as a spinster on 26 April 1723 when she, her mother Essex, and her brother Andrew [the brother James had evidently died], all residents of London, sold their plnatations in South Carolina. Where did you see a marriage to Arden? Doubt this is the same Mary. According to the history of the Ashley River in the S. C. Hist & Gen. Magazine, Vol. 20, 1919, none of that family moved to South Carolina after the death of the father. Andrew Percival the younger was a lawyer in London. Samuel Percival, the cousin, may have been in S. C. If so, any S. C. Percivals are most likely descended from him. Also, I doubt that the Essex Blackwell christened on 9 Oct. 1643 is the same one who married Andrew Percival in 1685. Mrs. Percival was alive in 1723, and her being alive at age 80 in 1723 would have been rare, though not impossible, of course.
