Parents of Peter Pursifull/England 1750

I'm a descendent of Peter Pursifull, born ca. 1750 in England and married to Margaret Selser in 1777 in Rockingham County, VA. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me something specifically about Peter's ancestry, or generally about the probable connection between Peter and the Percival family in England. Does anyone have a credible explanation about when the part of the family line that spells its name "Pursifull" first arose?
