Wilkerson Pursifull, b Aug 8, 1818, married Mary Ann Colson on March 22, 1838 in Harlan Co. KY. Wilkerson died on June 26, 1896 and is buried in the Watson Cemetery in Arlington, TX. Mary Ann died on Sept 23, 1899 and is buried next to Wilkerson in the Watson Cemetery. There is one single marker with Wilkerson's name on the south side and Mary's on the north side. The front of the stone faces west.
One of their daughters was Margaret "Millie" Pursifull. She married Wilkerson Asher Howard in Harlan Co. KY. Wilkerson Asher's dad was also Wilkerson "Wix" Howard who was the son of Samuel and Chloe Howard. Wilkerson and Margaret Howard are buried in the Kaufman City Cemetery, in Kaufman Co. TX.
Wilkerson sold his farm in Harlan Co. because of the infamous Turner-Howard feud which was going on in the 1890s in Harlan Co. He took all of his family and anyone else who would go and moved to Texas "so none of his kin would get shot." Apparently they followed Margaret Pursifulls parents route because Wilkerson died in Arlington in 1896 and the Howards did not move until about 1899, which is when Mary Ann Pursifull died.
Lewis Pursifull, born c1859 was the son of James A Pursifull and the grandson of Mount Pursifull. I do not know of the original Lewis or Louis Pursifull but he may indeed be the son of Henry C. Pursifull and Fanny Colson. The time seems right. Henry was a brother of Mount Pursifull.
I have been to the grave sites of both the Pursifulls and Howards in Texas. I have some more info on this line since it is my direct line. I also have some pictures of their graves. By the way, the Wilkerson Pursifull family is number 231 on the 1860 Harlan Co. census. I will be glad to share or exchange info.
