Wellingford D. Percival, New York, Early 1800's

On the tombstone of my relative Sarah Coffin, daughter of Jacob and Sally (Claflin) Coffin, it states that she was the wife of Wellingford D. Percival. She was born 24 May 1830 in Deerfield, Oneida, NY, and died 15 Jun 1852, and is buried in the cemetery in Newport, Herkimer, New York. Her father, Jacob Coffin, passed away in 1860, and in his will he mentions his granddaughter, "Helen Perciville", whom I would guess to be the daughter of Wellingford and Sarah.

I can find no record of Wellingford or Helen in the censuses. Sarah is listed as Sarah Coffin, living with her parents in 1850. It seems perhaps that she married Wellingford around 1851, then maybe died in childbirth the following year.

If these names mean anything to anyone, please contact me. Thanks.
