My Perkins family came from New Brunswick, per the federal censuses for Detroit / Wayne County, Michigan.I have been able to trace my family to Scarborough, York, Ontario, Canada est. 1796-1832, they then removed to Wayne County, Redford / Detroit, Michigan in 1832.
I have wondered about the Isaac you referenced....
I most likely had more than one Perkins relative in New Brunswick. One that appears to be for sure was WilliamPerkins, Sr. (who married an Elizabeth Kennedy of Cherry Valley, NY.They removed sto Scarborough, then to Redford, Michigan. The lived in Detroit until their deaths).Another Perkins relative may have been Andrew. And maybe a Thomas or John.
Family lore has it they (six brothers)came from Scotland to Canada. I have been unable to prove (or disprove) this.I have one other reference to Wm. Perkins, Sr. being "a native of New England."This made me wonder if he was a loyalist?
I'd appreciate learning whatever you learn on the Perkins of New Brunswick in the 1700s.Please forward to me [email protected]
I have numerous postings with more detail under Perkins, and in Canada GenForum under New Bruswick and Ontario.
Thanks.
