Phyllis: My stepfather is a Permar from the northern West Virginia and southern Pennsylvania area. He doesn't know of any connection yet to the North Carolina Permars, either, so I'm wondering where your family are from. As I posted in another message here, he says his family has always said the first Permar in America came over with Lafayette. I know he would be thrilled to find out anything verifiable about his ancestry, even just a few generations back.
