Perna misspellings of surname

I am decendent of sabastino perna from from Italy. I was told that he came to america with his brother joe as a young man and that joe returned to italy. he settled in trenton NJ area of the united states and is currently listed at ellis island national park on it's registry. he married a italian girl her in the states and had 12 children. during the births of 12 kids the nuns in the catholic hospital misspelled the last name on the birth certificates. we have Perno, Parno, Perna, and Parna in the family. would like to try to find info on
my grandfathers brother Joe ( beleived to be americanized) have decendents. working on gedcom file.
