Joseph was one of three brothers who came to the United States and settled in Philadelphia right around 1900. Married to Josephine had 9 children and my father albert vincent perna was the youngest. Perna family in Philadelphia invented automatic trench digging equipment and possibly the cinder block and were in construction (sewer systems). Family came from Calabrita Italy or Calabria but not the one in Sicily the one in Italy. Joseph and Josephine had a house (big one in West Phila) which was donated to the Catholic church. I have lost track of this side of the family years ago and now live in "Scottsdale az.
