Hello Jim
My name is Merv Matthews and I live in New Zealand. My mother's name was Doris Caroline Perreau.
I have done some research into the Perreau families in New Zealand and I could send you some notes and the family tree if you wish.
I was interested in your reference to the twins Robert & Daniel who were hanged for forgery. This tale is mentioned in info I have received from others, but I have never been able to establish a link with our family. Can you help here?
I have also tried to establish a link with Gigi Perreau, the actress, but again with no success. Is there one?

Briefly, my tree begins with John Perreau, b. c 1785 in London, married Elizabeth Chapman (1) then Margaret Griffiths (2). Children born 1810 through to 1836 were Elizabeth, Mary, George, Emma, Susannah, John, James, John (again) Helen, Lucy, Eliza, John (again) Edward, Arthur??, Frederick, all born in London.
Apparently they didn't know what caused it in those days!!

I look forward to your reply.
Regards
Merv
