I am not at present researching my family history, its just a case of me browsing around the web for the first time and coming across your comment connecting the Perrett family with France. I have no evidence whatsoever about what I am initially about to say, so forgive me if I am wasting your time. Since my teenage years, I have held the belief,(as a result of what relations have told me),that my particular strain of the Perrett family was traced by a relative, recently deceased, to an individual who came to England with William the Conquereor and served alongside him. Now as I have said, I have no evidence of that fact. Now some information that is fact, two years ago I was on holiday in France and visited a small town in Northern Brittany, called Treguier. I noticed a memorial stone to the dead, who fought for France in the 1939 - 1945 War. One of the deceased soldiers was, and I quote :
"PERRETTE. M." Does this help?
Having said the above, I am in no way claiming a link between the two statements. It would have been nice though?
My direct descendants, ie, paternal Grandfather, came to Wales at the turn of the 20th Century and were Market Gardeners. They came from Somerset, England. I hope this information has been of some use to you. Good luck with your research and good luck and good health to all the 'Perretts'
