       1. John William1 Perrett was born 18 Apr 1845 in AL1, and died 3 Mar 1924 in Crenshaw Co., AL1. He married Margaret Malissa Spradley 11 Jun 1865 in Butler Co., AL2, daughter of James Spradley and Julia Boone. She was born 23 Dec 1844 in Lowndes Co., AL3, and died 24 Feb 1928 in Crenshaw Co., AL4.

Ron, Thank You so much. As with all new Perrett information, I end up with more
questions. After viewing a listing of Perrett's buried in Crenshaw County I see the following:

J. W. Perrett b.4-18-1845 d. 3-3-1924 Live Oak Methodist Cemetery. I think this is the husband of Margaret since they are both buried at Live Oak. If I ever make it back there I'll double check to see if they are buried next to each other. Since she was only 21 when they married, don't you think there are more children? I believe this is the son of Andre' (Jack) Perrette and a Creek Indian Woman. Other children were Robert, Simon, Pliney (Clemmons) & Harriette (Mellinger).I believe Robert was born around 1845 & according to Harriette's tomb stone she was born in 1839 so these dates match up. Andre' (Jack) was the first Perrett to come to the area and as far as I know the father to all Perrett descendants in the area.

I also find John Washington Perrett buried at the Mt Pleasant Church of Christ in Crenshaw County. b. 8-1-1874 d. 2-11-1959. Although I have a difference in names, I believe this to a son of the above mentioned Robert Perrett. My great Uncle & Grandmother visited this cemetery & remembered all the names of this children & wife although they new him as Uncle Bud. Do you know where to go to research Alabama Prison Records? Seems Uncle Bud was arrested for Moonshinning, that might help me clear up my name difference.

According to family stories, Andre' (Jack) ended up in Crenshaw County after fleeing Louisiana (where he left at least one brother) after a shoot out in which he was wounded. He was trying to make it to South Carolina to other family. He was only able to travel as far as present day Crenshaw County before his wound's forced him to stop. He was nursed back to health by a Creek Indian Medicine woman whom he later married. As I stated before, it has been very hard for me to find good documentation for this family. So please note that much of my info (unless noted) comes from older relatives, old family stories, & family bibles. However through kind people like you, I am able to put these pieces together, one by one. Thank you Again, Merry Christmas, Patricia Gibson
