Unfortunately I have found nothing that specifically calls Abijah the son of William. As I stated, the Hanover church records only referred to "child of William Perigo jr" with dates of birth without naming them. Like much Perigo / Perigo research, a lot of presumed family connections are based on geographical proximity and process of elimination due to a lack of primary source records. This is complicated when distant branches of the family move into the same area, which happened with the Perigos in NY & VT.
William Perigo jr. served in the Revolutionary War and applied for a pension. Perhaps more detail could be found there. My own Perigo line descends from William jr's brother George.
