John Frederick Mayo PERROTT b. 1908

I am writing a history of 2 (Cheshire) Field Squadron in which Major Perrott was officer-in-command from March 1941 to July 1943. (It was re-numbered '622' in early 1943.) My father served in the squadron as a lowly 'sapper' while JFMP was in command.

The squadron was in action at El Alamein in October 1942 when JFMP was awarded the Military Cross.

He was born 28 April 1908 and gave his next of kin as Professor S W Perrott of Stoke Poges, Bucks.

I would like to know if he wrote a memoir of his wartime experiences or if any of his diaries or letters have survived.

Many thanks

Bill Haygarth
