Birth: 19 MAR 1726/1727/28 in Sandwich, Barnstable County, Cape Cod., Ma.
Death: 18 JAN 1812 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, USA
Burial: Reed Cemetery, Plymouth County, Massachusetts

Elijah Perry was a private in Captain Abishai Tinkham's Company, Colonel Ebenezer Sproutt's Regiment. He entered service September 6, 1778 and was discharged September 12, 1778 - service 6 days. company marched from Middleborough to Dartmouth on two alarms, one in May and one in September 1778. Also served in Captain Sparrow's Company, Colonel John Jacob's Regiment. He enlisted July 23, 1780 and was discharged october 27, 1780 - service 3 months 5 days. The regiment was detached to reinforce the Continental Army for three months, all sworn in at Middleborough, Mass.

Luther Tilson at the age of twenty went on the ocean as a sailor for six years. He then went to Vermont and worked on a farm for his uncle, Daniel Perry. In the fall of 1802, he with his uncle and two other families, migrated with wagons to Ohio. At Wheeling, VA, with more families, they took a flat boat, tied their wagons to the sides, and the three young men manned the boat. The old uncle took the horses by land. the boat arrived at Cincinnati, Ohio Dec. 25, 1802. In 1803 Mr Perry bought the section of land that now includes the town of Sommerillle, Butler Co Ohio then all in woods. There they endured great hardships. Daniel Perry sold to Luther Tilson, 160 acres of land at Congress price, and have all the time he wished to pay for it without interest. It was the south part of the section, being one mile East and West; eighty rods North and South ...................The four families from Vermont were Daniel Perry; his two sons in-law, John Emerson and Joseph Blessom (Blossom) and Luther Tilson.
