Obituary for Pansy Leona Persons, d/o James W. & Alice (1887-1978)

From the Linn County News, Pleasanton, Kansas, June 15, 1978, page 7-C:

PANSY LOENA MC DOWELL

Pansy Loena McDowell, daughter of James W. and Alice Persons, passed away June 6, 1978, at
Mariola Nursing Home, Grants Pass, Oregon. She was born April 1, 1887 in Harper, Kansas and
lived most of her life at La Cygne, Kansas, where she married John W. McDowell who preceded
her in death in 1932. She was the last of five children: sisters, Myrtle and Ivy; and brothers, Fred
and Roy.

Survivors are nephews James Persons, La Cygne, Kansas, Bill Hoggatt, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ted
and Clarence Persons, Boise, Idaho, Philip Persons and Howard Persons, Nampa, Idaho; and a
niece, Eunice Payne of Glendale, Oregon.

She was a member of the Christian Church and Swan Chapter 311, Order of Eastern Star at La
Cygne, and White Shrine of Jerusalem at Ft. Scott, Kansas.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 11 at the La Cygne Christian Church with Rev.
Glen Meyers officiating. Organ music was by Mrs. Elsie Keller. Bearers were Raymond
Debrick, Darwin Walters, Glen Creager, George Arzberger, Art Francis and Ray Coffin.
Interment was in the Oak Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Mangold Funeral Home.
