Persse Family Genealogy Forum

The following is from a recent article in the Galway Advertiser:
Michael Quinn, a Heritage studies student at Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (G.M.I.T.) is currently researching his dissertation on the Persse Galway Whiskey Distillery. He is looking for any information, documents, photographs, stories or merchandising products relating to the distillery that readers might have. Everything will be cared for and returned. Contact Michael on 091-562738/087-6429656 or E-mail mickwin7778@hotmail.com if you can help. Thank you.
I sent Michael an e-mail message telling him about the Persse Family Genealogy Forum and suggested that he may be able to obtain some of the information that he needs through the forum. In his message back to me, Michael indicated that he was experiencing some difficulty accessing the forum from his computer and asked if I wouldn't mind posting a message for him. Michael did indicate that he has had some success in obtaining some distillery papers, as well as whiskey bottles and mirrors. From what I've read about the Distillery, it was a rather large operation (400,000 gallons a year). The building is still standing and has been turned into apartments that are available for short term lease if anyone is interested in visiting Galway. There is a print of the distillery on the Celtic Malts web page at http://www.celticmalts.com/journal-b11.htm.
I told Michael that I would forward any information that I was able to obtain from the forum.
