I think it could be. My wife's family is Petrash here in the US, but her grandfather's birth cert. may have said Petris or Petras. This is just a memory from a sister who saw it once. He was born in Austria abt 1908. We believe he came to this country with his parents Johann and Anna Petras. The names may have been changed to John Petrash before they moved to PA. We are still trying to confirm all of this. Hope this helps.
