This is only going to confuse the issue even more -
My husband's grandparents came to U.S. from
Slovakia in 1890's. Name on 1900 Federal Census of Armstrong co, PA was Petrash, but
next census was Petras. Also on Application
for Naturalization it was Petras. A few years ago I found relatives in the small town
that grandparents had left in 1890's and the
name they used was Petras. This really does
not answer your question, sorry.
