I know of a Petras family in Bennington,Vermont. They have been around this area at least 75 years or more. One of them had informed me years ago that their name had been changed to Petras when they arrived in the states from Greece. If I remember it right, he said the Greek name was too long so it was downsized. I don't know if this helps any, but it does show that at least one Petras family may come from a different tree. It's very interesting that when they changed their name, they came up with your rare name. Maybe, somehow there is a connection? Bob
