I knew that Shelborne was important.
I still have one missing key onmy grandfather
Leroy Pettibone born 1880 Ashfield.
He married Hattie Marie Charon (Charron)born about 1896 in Little Crompton RI but I do not know where or when they married. They had Leroy E Pettibone 1921, making Leroy Sr 41 at time of birth, also Dorothy Lillian born 1927, both in Hartford. Hattie died in the mid 50's in Hartford, was housekeeeper/cook for Governor of CT I have been told, but no info on it. I wonder if Leroy Sr. was married before since he was 41 at the first birth.
My family went to the cemetary you mentioned and found the graves of Clarissa Miller Pettibone, husband Freeman was to her left in an unmarked grave.. born 1815 presumed he was in the civil war but no info. died after 1901.Coronado F. pettibone (their son) Josephine S. McCullough Pettibone his wife to his left. to the right of Coronado is my grandfather Leroy in an unmarked grave. Daughter Blanchewas buried next to Josephine.I went to the cemetary records keeper and got a copy of the plots for the Pettibones while we were there.
