I have John Washington LeMay born 15 June, 1811 Granville Co NC,[ son of Lewis Allen LeMay born 1813], married to Elizabeth Pettus on 28 Oct 1854 in Lawrence Co TN. The date of birth for Elizabeth Pettus is given as 28 Aug. 1838 TN.
I have not found any proof of this marriage and have no idea how the name Pettus is connected to my LeMay line.
I also see on ancestry.com George Washington LeMay born Jan 12, 1842 Lawrence Co TN md Elizabeth Pettus. Others have her listed as Elizabeth Pettus Le May with same date of birth.
Anyone know of a LeMay connection to the Pettus family?
