This is an easy one.
Ken Pettus was the son of Edward Lee Pettus I.
Ken was my grandfather's half brother, having different mothers.

Edward L. Pettus was a member of the House of Representatives from the
27th legislative District, Tacoma, in the Washington State Legislature
1936-38, 1938-40, 1940-42, 1944-46.

You can find his name listed on the 'political graveyard' site:
http://politicalgraveyard.com/bio/pettitt-pezzulo.html

Edward L. Pettus I was the son of Allison Woodville Pettus who was the son of John Calvin Pettus. Our family history says that John Calvin was the son of Samuel Overton Pettus and a Miss Lowe who was Samuel Overton's first wife. He left her shortly after the birth of John Calvin and re-married to have more children. This info was given to me by Terry
Pettus, Ken Pettus' brother.
