You're welcome. I thought at first reaction that Mrs. Pettus might have been Bessie Averett Pettus, wife of Richard Emerson Pettus, and mother of George Overton Pettus, Sr., of Keysville. GOP, Sr., was the father of GOP, Jr., who still lives in Keysville. Trouble is, Richard and Bessie only had four sons, to my knowledge.

I would be curious to know what you learn, if you don't mind sharing the information.
