Mr. Pettus, would you happen to know who the following might be? This same lady, Maggie Harden, age 79, born in TN, was living, in 1860 Anderson Co., TX with a William Pettus (Petters), born @1820 in VA. In 1850 she was living in Anderson Co., TX with a James W. Peters. William Petters (Pettus) was listed in 1850, Anderson Co., TX as being born in VA about 1818. I am trying to find anything about a Sarah Petters (Pettus), age 23 on the 1850 Anderson Co., TX census living with this James W. Peters (Petus). There are so many different variations of the spelling of this surname in the various census records that I really do not know if these I mention are Peters, Petters, Pettus or what!
Thanks for any help.
